rough last couple of months

These last few months has seemed like one rough patch after another. I know God won't give you more than you can handle, but sometimes you just want to say enough is enough.
First we were dealing with Noah's mystery illnesses. We did learn he has a weakened immune system but thankful no weird auto-immune disorder or cancer (which both were talked about, scary!!) . Then I got my severe pancreatitis and very much could've died. They told me I was lucky I came to the ER when I did. So I got to stay 4 nights in the hospital and miss 4 weeks of work. Only 5% of people ever get pancreatitis with unknown reason, seriously!!! I am still on a very restrictive diet, almost 2 months later. Then the latest has been pat's mom illness and recent death. This has been very hard on pat as you can imagine. So we are headed out tomorrow to start the traveling for the funeral and burial. Funeral will be Thursday in Tahlequah, then travel day down to Gilmer, TX (close to Tyler, TX) for burial on Saturday (actually in a smaller town Pritchett, TX)
Then head home Sunday and back to work for me Monday. Pat will still have some bereavement time left so he won't be going back until Friday, which I think will be good. He needs some time to process and reflect. Right now we are just trying to help dad with details that he hasn't really had time to slow down and process that his mom is gone.
I am just really ready for life to calm down a bit and get back to "normal"

I don;t know what it is about this time of the year but I seem to always get sick. Last year, I had my gallbladder removed this year I have acute pancreatitis. I went to the ER about 1am Wednesday morning and wasn't released until around 2 pm Saturday. I mostly slept all day Sunday and I got up I thought I was going to try to go to work Monday. Pat told me not under any circumstances was I allowed to go to work and actually hid my keys. Well, I ended up back at the doctor this afternoon in pain and diarrhea (sorry TMI). My primary care doc says they shouldn't have discharged me from the hospital and almost re-admitted me but sent me home with some pain meds and continue with the nasuea meds so I could maybe actually keep is down but with strict criteria to return to ER. So I am not allowed to return to work until at least NEXT TUESDAY!! I about fell off the table when she said that. I said really. She said "Do you want to go back to the hospital?" I guess I have been pretty sick and am really in no condition to work but I have so much to do!!!

I am still not able to return to work. I am doing much better but still having trouble keeping food in me!!! I have lost about 15 pounds!!! Pancreatitis is serious stuff and not fun!

I can't believe my baby boy is 2!! It doesn't seem possible. It seems like I just yesterday we were welcoming him into the world !!! Where did the time go??? http://obryannews.blogspot.com/2009/08/noah-patrick-obryan-is-here.html
We had his party at Unpluggits and he had a blast!!! He got a power wheel motorcycle as his big present and he loves it!!! Just not very good at steering yet.

Our first hospital stay (besides being born)

Noah had his first hospital stay (besides being born) this past week. He has been a very sick little boy :(. He started out with what was believed to be a virus but doc was concerned because he had a very high fever!! He did some blood work. White count was slightly elevated so he was pretty sure it was just a virus but could be starting an infection so wanted us to keep him informed if his fever didn't go down (that was Friday 6/24/11).He seemed to get a little better but as soon as Tylenol or motrin wore off, his fever would spike. Sunday His fever spiked to 104.5 and he was having body aches and chills and couldn't get comfortable at all. So I call the dr. on call line and they said to take him to after hours. The PA said his throat was very swollen, red, and had puss spots. So we did a strep test, which came back positive. Ok good, we have an answer and some meds so he should get better right??? WEll not so much!!! Again he started to improve some. His pediatrician, Crittenden, called to check on him Monday morning. I told him his fever was still little high 102 but would go down with meds. He told me if he still had fever on Wednesday to let him know. Wednesday he called and checked on him. He was running low grade 99.5 -100. He said he would call Thursday morning and check on him b/c he shouldn't be running a fever with the antibiotic if the strep was all he had. WEll Wednesday night/early Thursday another spike of high fever 102-103. I called dr direct line to leave a voicemail so he could get it first thing that morning. He called us back as soon a he got the message and told us to come back to the office for examination and more blood work b/c he was concerned strep wasn't the only thing going on. So they took blood and urine for more test. Doctor didn't like the look of the test and was concerned that he was missing something. He was going to consult another dr and call us back but he thought he needed to go to the hospital. After consulting another doctor, They decided he needed to be admitted to childrens hospital for observation and more test. So Noah was admitted to childrens Thursday night 6/30/11. He was exhausted almost lethargic. They would come in several times that night to do vitals and get blood for test. Noah keep trying to take out his IV so they had to put a brace around it. His blood kept clotting so they weren't getting good lab results so therefore kept having to get more blood. He was very dehydrated b/c his throat was so swollen he couldn't eat or drink. Preliminary labs were showing most likely he had mono and strep. So the antibiotic treated the strep but made the mono worse. His fever finally broke Friday morning, so they said if it stayed down unmedicated then we could go home Friday evening (7/1/11). Fever stayed down so we were able to go home!!!!! Ever since he has been doing pretty good, able to eat a little but still very weak and fatigued. He has been sleeping 11-13 hours a night and taking 4-5hr naps during the day. He can't be around other people right now. We should get all lab results back Wednesday just to confirm that mono and strep is all we are dealing with. It has been quite the little ordeal and has been so hard to see him so sick!!!! He is a tough little boy and hopefully he won't remember much of this!

I haven't blogged in such a long time!! I decided I would blog about summer so far!!
So far this summer we have been to the zoo, unpluggits, and swimming, swimming, swimming!!!! But This last two weeks Noah got a nasty virus and strep throat, yuck. WE had tickets to the circus and Noah was so excited to go but he was just way to sick. His fever got up to 104.5!!! Noah really wanted to see the tiger. I told him when he felt better we would go see the tiger at the zoo, he said "well ok". We gave our tickets to his uncle Mikey, I'm glad he was able to enjoy them. His fever finally down today and he is getting back to his old self!!!

I haven't blogged in forever!! I just haven't had anything to say really... (still don't)
Well lets see, Oklahoma had two snow storms in the last two weeks, which gave me a lot of time at home with Noah. I loved staying home with him. He is at such a fun age. He loves to play chase with the dog, the cat, daddy, me, basically anyone who will play with him. He also loves to wrestle. He loves cars and trucks!!
During this time at home, we have played a lot of chase, wrestling, and playing with cars and trucks and watching movies. We did play in the snow a little but Noah wasn't a big fan of being cold.

Today we got out and went to unpluggits. Noah had a blast!!!

I can't believe my baby is one!!! Thursday (8/12) we had a big family party for Noah!! He was so excited. He still keeps going around to all his new toys and plays with them for a couple of minutes and then switches to another new one. Some of his favs were his ball popper, a stuffed mickey mouse, some blocks, and his little toddler slide and swing set!!!

We went to the zoo today with some good friends of ours whose son is 8 days older than Noah and goes to the same babysitter!! They are BFF's!!! Apparently everybody else decided to go to the zoo today too. It was so crowded!!!

Noah has been a very sick little boy. It started with a trip to after hours on Tuesday evening with a 102 fever and a horrible cough. Diagnoised Bronchiolitis and upper respiratory infection, prescribed 2 days worth of steroids and antibiotics and to follow-up with Dr. Crittenden if cough doesn't sound better by Friday. So after being up all night Thursday night , We called Dr. Crittenden's office first thing Friday morning. They said get here as quickly and as safety as you can. We didn't even get Noah out of his PJ's just loaded him up in the car. We did a breathing treatment in the office, then the dr listened to him again and said yep he definitly has RSV and Bronchiolitis. So now he has steroids twice a day for 5 days, breathing treatment every 4hours, every 2 if needed) and finish prescribed antibiotics. He hasn't slept well or ate well and just doesn't feel good. I feel so bad for him. I wish I could make him feel better.

Then theres Pat after surgery........ "Honey, Will you put on my socks? Honey, will you button my pants? Honey, will you help me wash my hair? Honey, What are you thinking of doing for dinner??? Honey, will you check my status on my game?????

Here's an idea Pat NO!!!!!! I won't do that right this minute. I have been up for three days with our very sick son and was actually thinking about maybe taking a shower or taking a little nap while Noah sleeps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, sorry I had to get that off my chest!

I'm sad that we are going to miss the baby dedication at church sunday. Noah is ordered to not be around ppl until at least Tuesday!!

Pat's baby nephew passed away this morning. He was about 5 weeks old. He was 6 weeks premature and got to go home the other day with a heart monitor and sleep apnea machine. This morning Pat's brother and girlfriend woke up and realized that they had actually got some sleep (usually the monitor goes off b/c Gabe would stop breathing 5-10 times a night). They ran into check on him and he was blue. They called 911 and attempted CPR but it was too late. They have determined that the machines failed and didn't set off an alarm when he would stop breathing. As you can imagine, everyone is devasted. We are headed up there (Muskogee) tomorrow. Pat can't get off work today since he had already clocked in and they don't consider that immediate famliy. No news on when the funeral will be yet. Please keep our family in your prayers.
I can't even imagaine the grief. I haven't let Noah out of my sight today since I heard the news. I am sitting in his nursery right now watching him as he sleeps. I love my baby boy so much. I just want to hold him and never let him go.

What an adventurous Christmas!!

We had an adventurous first Christmas with Noah. We drove to Henryetta Thursday early trying to bet the blizzard didn't quite work. It stared sleeting and snowing on us. Pat was very mad at me for insisting we go to my folks. We had a good time with family. Noah got lots of cute clothes and some toys. He had a good time with his cousins and grandparents and everyone. The real adventure started on the trip home Friday. Pat had to work today (saturday) so we had to get back. A noramlly 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hours trip took us a little more then 5 hours. About Midwest city we were at a stand still for about 30 mins. Then Noah decided he had had enough of being in the car and started screaming, then the dog started barking b/c Noah was crying, then pat started commenting about how glad he was we made the trip. Then I started crying b/c it was getting dark and the roads were scary!!! SO then pat apologized for making me feel bad and Noah finally clamed down after I took him out of his seat for alittle bit. We will never do that again!!!!
But hey we have a great story to tell Noah about his 1st Christmas!!!!
Oh yeah and now Noah and I both have a cold!! and Noah is teething!!!!!!!!

2 month check-up!!

Today Noah had his 2 month check-up. He will be 10 weeks tomorrow so just little off on the dates but his doc was out of town last week.
He weighs 12lbs (50 percentile) and is 25 1/4 inches long (95 percentile)! The doc says he is doing great!!!! He actually didn't cry that much when he got his shots and recovered nicely. He stopped crying as soon as I picked him up. I cried when he cried but I recovered quickly as well.
School is going well. I still wish I didn't have to leave him but I have a great sitter and a great class.

Ok going back to work was so hard. I was almost late because I didn't want to let him go. I cried so hard and held on so tight. Pat is taking him to the sitters since he doesn't have to be at work until 10 most days. When I got to school, I started crying everytime someone asked me how I was. How do you think I am I just left my 8 week old baby for the first time. The kids were so sweet though. They had all made me welcome back cards and told me they were going to keep me happy all day!! I rushed out as soon as I could. When I walked in the sitters house, Noah smiled and giggled. She said he did great!!!! ( thats what she said everytime I called, too )
Friday was easier , mainly because I was yelling at pat. He hasn't been feeling too good and wouldn't get out of bed. I told him he needed to take advantage of the time that I am still at home to take a shower and what not. He finally got up just as I was burping Noah and it was 5 min until I needed to leave. I said well I hope Noah will cooperate and let you get ready or you may just have to go to work stinky! He claimed that, that was his plan to distract me so I wouldn't cry as I was leaving (whatever!). I did cry a little in the car but nothing like the day before.
I'm glad next week is a short week!! only three days!!!! Thanks for all the well wishes!! I think it is going to be ok but still I would prefer to stay home with him. But the sitter is a close family friend and just has Noah and her child who is 2. On Tuesday and Thursday her little girl goes to sonshine school so she only has Noah for most of the day!!!!
Ok I am going to go love on my boy who is starting to wake up from his nap!!!

I can't believe it has already been 8 weeks and I have to go back to work. Everytime I think about it I start crying. There was a couple of times today that Noah looked at me like whats wrong with you crazy woman!
I just can't bear the thought of being away from him all day. I will miss him so much. The babysitter doesn't know how he likes to be held while being rocked (ok I have told her and showed her severeal times when we have been at her house, letting Noah get to know her)But she won't do it as good as me! She can't make the silly noises that make him laugh like I can.
I know she will take really good care of him but I just don't want to leave him. I never dreamed it would be this hard. I can't imagine how I am going to be in the morning.
He felt a little warm this morning, so I was secretly hoping he had a fever so I could stay home with him tomorrow. No such luck, I mean I don't want him to be sick but I just want more time home with him.
So just think of me tomorrow as I am bawling my eyes out in the morning!! This is going to be the hardest thing I have ever had to do!

Well today is my 26th birthday!!! We went to my church in Henyetta with my family. Everyone just loved all over Noah!!! It is so weird going back to church there because it is so small. Today attendance was 140 and thats good!! We had a good 'ol potluck lunch and then headed over to my parents. My older sister came over with the kids. My neice and nephews just love Noah (their only cousin)!!!
I remember when I was a kid and thinking what my life would be like when I was in my 20's.
I have everything I always wanted, a great husband, a wonderful child, a cozy home, a great career!! I can't believe I am now offically closer to 30 than 20!

We had a great long weekend. We got to see both sides of the family. Noah got to meet his cousins. Everyone loved him so much. He got passed around so much. He slept good at night. I was concerned of how he would sleep with being away from home but he did good.
Time is going by way too fast!!! I can't believe Noah will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!! I don't want to go back to work in October. :(
I think Pat needs to get a second job and I will just stay home! I actually suggested this to him and I got a dirty look! He said he already spends to much time away from Noah.
The family is already asking us when we are coming back!! We told them they need to come see us first!

Noah had his first doctors appointment to check on his jaundice. He was a trooper!! All jaundice is gone. He is almost back to birth wieght. He is 9lbs and 1/2 ounces. He was 9lbs 4ounces at birth and 8lbs 6 ounces when he came home from the hospital.
He slept better last night. He slept from 12:00-2:30 and from 5:30-8:30.

We are having a c-section tomorrow at 10 am!!! I can see the light!! They say he is about 9-10 pounds give or take a pound!!!! I will update as soon as possible but I will probably have to be completey out b/c they don;t know if they can get an epidural in or not.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and please continue them as we go in for surgery tomorrow!!

WEll went to my appointment today. We are doing an ultrasound tomorrow to determine what to do next. I am an emotional wreck!!! We went over to the hospital and did a NST and Noah is doing great so that is reasuring!!!

I have been really nauseated and not being able to keep much of anything down since wednesday. Yesterday (friday) I wasn't feeling well at all and really weak. I tried to eat breakfast only to throw it all up later. I tried to rest and drink water. I started throwing up again that afternoon. Well apparently after throwing up I tried to get up and I ended up passing out and hitting my head. Pat heard me and came to see if I was ok. When I came to, I was in bed and pat was talking to the doctor. She told him to bring me in. It turns out I was severly dehydrated. 4 bags of fluids, anti-nausea meds, and 12 hours later we were sent home. So we stayed from 4pm yesterday to 4 am this morning. While I was there I starting having contractions but not dilating anymore. I am a 2-2 1/2 and 70% effaced. The nurse believes I have been in early labor for at least a week probably 2. The plan is to see the doctor on monday (if still preggo) all the nurses thinks she will induce but we shall see!! Pat started his leave yesterday. He said he just doesn't feel comfortable leaving me home alone. If he hadn't been home yesterday, who knows how long I would've been passed out in the bathroom.

Hopefully, she will induce monday or I will have him this weekend!!! Just keep us in your prayers!!!

frustrated!!!

I can't wait until this pregnancy is over!!! I went to the hospital early Tuesday morning about 1 am with strong contractions only to be sent home about 3 hours later b/c everything slowed down and I wasn't dialting pass a 2. Today I was suppose to have an appointment at 10:30. I woke up at 5am with contractions about 5 min apart. By about 9:30 they got stronger and were about 3 min apart. I called the doc to see if she wanted me to keep my appointment or come in ealier, etc. They told me just to go over to the hospital. After 2 1/2 hours, I got sent home again b.c I wasn't progessing and contractions had almost completely stopped and still a 2. Discharge instructions were to make an appointment for early next week to discuss options.
I have an appointment on monday (if I am still pregnant).
I am due saturday and I am miserable!! My back is killing me and I can't hardly sleep and have been extremely nauseated and thowing up just about everything I eat.
I thought for sure I would've had him by now!!! I am so over being pregnant!!!!! I don't know, I am just venting!!!!

I have had so much energy the last few days. I have just been so restless! The last two days I have... went to almost every store imaginable just to browse..(okay I have spent a little money), cleaned the kitchen (this includes the inside and outside for that matter of stove, microwave and fridge and mopping the floor), cleaned both bathrooms (including scrubbing the tubs) gave the dog a bath (complete with blowdry and brushing), cleaning out my husband's nasty, nasty car (including getting out the carpet shampooer and cleaning the seats and floors) and rearrange our dvd collection. I'm sure I am forgetting something that I did!
Some of my freinds are saying that I am nesting and that Baby Noah is on his way!!! I have about 2 weeks and a few days till my due date!! So we will see if I make it! I'm ready to see my baby boy!!!

Today we had our 34 week ultrasound. They were running an hour and half behind!!! Noah weighs 5 pounds 11 oz. They said if he goes to term he will be 8 pounds!!

I was so tired of waiting by the time they finally called us back, so was Pat!! We finally got a few good pics. Noah was moving all around as usual and he is also so far down it was hard to get a look at his face!!

*** Oh yeah and the bright spot/hole on Noah's heart has completely gone away!!!

God is good!!!

Thanks to everyone who attended my baby shower and/or sent a gift!! Your guys are so sweet!!! We got some really cute stuff! Thanks to my wonderful hostesses! I feel so blesssed to be apart of such a wonderful church group. It has always been really hard for me to make friends b/c I am really shy but you guys have all made me feel so welcome!!!

I can't sleep. I have been up for about an hour so since about 5:45 am mostly due to heartburn, back pain, and the baby moving around but also due to I'm such a worrier.
I worry about everything from the big stuff to the smallest detail. Like right now, I just want Baby Noah to be healthy, And I am already worried about leaving him in daycare when I go back to work. I'm worried I won't be able to breastfeed and I really want to. I'm worried I won't be able to balance it all... work, baby, household chores etc!
I know like I said I'm a worrier. The newest thing to my list is my baby shower. We had to change it to next Sunday June 28th. We were suppose to have it on July 12th but we didn't realize that, that was mission sunday. I'm worried that noone is going to know about it and that noone will come. I know that sounds selfish. I am just really self conscious and always read to much into things. I just keep having this dream that I am at the baby shower and noone shows up, not even my hostess. I'm sure it will be fine!
I am also worried about my family. My dad lost his job. My mom is on disability and so is my brother. My mom helps my brother with a few paper routes but that is the only other source of income right now. My dad is the sole provider. Dad keeps saying there is no use even looking for a job b/c there is nothing out there. My little sister doesn't seem to understand why she can't have certain things and it is really stressing out my dad. I have just been praying that something will turn up for him.
I just need to stop worring and give it to God. Maybe I will try to get some sleep now!

I can't believe another year has come to an end. This year was hard because I am losing 4 5th graders that I have had for 2 years! I love those kids and I will miss them a lot. This week has also been hard b/c I have been on half days due to my contractions. I convinced everyone to let me work all day today and I am exhausted!!! I had a great year this year. I will be getting 4 new kids next year and my year will be different but I am looking forward to it!!!
I also got the " Most Stubborn and she better not be here to accept this award", I was there and so everyone got a good laugh out of that! I love everyone I work with. They have really helped out this week when I have been on half days. They have asked my TAs what they could do to help. I especially have great TAs and a great principal!!!!
I am looking forward to a relaxing summer and having my baby boy!!!

28 weeks pregnant!

Today I had my 28 week appointment. It went well. My doctor said my uterus is irritable and practicing!!! I was actually contracting at the appointment today. She kept me until they slowed down. It took a lot less time then at the hospital friday night!! She wants me to stay off my feet as much as possible! Thank goodness, I only have 1 week of school left!!!!!!!!
I have gained 25 punds thus far and she said I should gain about 10 more pounds. Gosh, I hope I can lose all this weight quickly!!!
I am looking forward to a long weekend.
The nursery is just about ready. We just need to put up the border and my friend is coming to paint a murral on one of the walls.
Pat did a great job getting it 90% done!!!!

After school today, we had my baby shower at school. It was so nice. We got a lot of cute stuff!

I had my 24 weeks check up today. I determined I was going to ask for some meds. I just can't fight this cold thing I have had for about 3 weeks now. Turns out I have a sinus infection. My doctor said I should've asked sooner and to never be afraid to ask. I thought I was just being a weenie and couldn't handle a little cold. My little guy is still measuring a week ahead but we are not going to change my dates. I did my gestational diabetes test today. I hope it turns out ok.
Also, My doc is going to send me for a specialized high def 3d/4d ultrasound. She said she was reviewing my last ultrasound and the placenta was a little high. I asked her what that meant and she said it was nothing to worry about and didn't eleborate. She said she just wanted to get a closer look at things. So we will see how that turns out!
I am glad to get a z-pack and I hope to start feeling better soon!!!

Special Olympics!!!

Today we went to Special Olympics in Putnam City. The kids were so excited!!!!
They did so good!! We got serveral first places and second places!!!! I am so proud of the kids!
We had a fun day but my feet are killing me.
Being on your feet all day, running from event to event, and running with kids for motivation is not recommended when you're 22 weeks pregnant!!!
Oh yeah, and I got a sunburn on my face!! Who knew that would happen in 60 degree weather!!!

20 week appointment!!!

I had my 20 week appointment today!!! Everything is going great!!! I have gained 12 pounds in total. I thought that was a little much but the doctor said I was right on track. I also learned that I probably won't be able to have an epidural due to my back being mostly metal. My doc said we will need to talk to the anesthesiologist but she guesses I won't be able to. Thats a bummer! Oh well, I guess I need to prepare for pain!

I have had a good week back at work. I really do miss those kids when we have a break! They are such good kids. They are so excited about the baby!!!! They rub and kiss the belly about a thousand times a day!!!

We had our complete ultrasound today. Our little boy is quite the show off. He was doing summer saults, sucking his thumb, and playing peek a boo. He was waving his fist at us, as if he was telling us to leave him alone. We already love him so much!!!

I am so glad it is spring break!!! I have a week off and nothing that I have to do !!!!!!!!!

16 week appointment!!!!!!

We had our 16 week appointment today!!!! At first, she was having a little trouble finding the heartbeat b/c the baby kept moving around. So, she sent us down the hall to get an ultrasound. The tech found it right away!!! 154 bpm!!! Then she said ohhh!!! We were like what was that. She said well I think I can tell the sex, do you want to know or do you want to wait for your next appointment. Pat and I looked at each other and said OF COURSE WE WANT TO KNOW!!!!!! Right when she said that, the legs closed!! So I got up and moved around a little and went to the bathroom then came back. Then we saw it!!!! He is proud of what he's got. IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!
We are really excited!! I had an inking that it was a boy at first and then the heart rate was high so it put some doubt in my mind!! He is already a tricky little boy.

food poisoning on top of morning sickness...not a good combo

So after being up all night friday night, We determined it was probably something other than morning sickness. I started throwing up about 1am and didn't stop until about noon on saturday. Then I thought I was feeling a little better and tried some chicken broth but I threw that up as well. I kept trying to take my anti-nausea meds but couldn't keep it down.
After some gatorade, I was finally able to keep some broth down about 6pm last night.
I can't remember the last time I have been that sick. I think pat thought he was going to have to take me to the ER. He said if you don't keep this broth down (the one at 6pm) I am taking you to the ER.
I was still a little weak this morning, so Pat let me stay home while he went to church. I am doing pretty good now. I kept down some soup and I am feeling a lot stronger.
I don't think I will be eating chinese at the mall for a while.

I can't believe we were out of school again today!!!! That gave me a chance to make-up my 12 week appointment. I called to reschedule (they closed tuesday due to weather) and they asked If I could come today. I said you betcha!!!!!! Everything is going great. Pat couldn't make it on such late notice but the doctor let me call him so he could hear the heartbeat!!! It was a strong heartbeat of 160!!!! We are so happy that everything is going well. It looks like we will be back in school tomorrow. I am getting a little bored.

**** UPDATE**** NO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY!!!! YAY!!!!

I am so glad to have a day off of work today but now I am feeling a little trapped. Pat took the four wheel drive vehicle to work and gave me strict orders to not go outside. I was suppose to have my 12 week appointment today but they cancelled all appointments. I was really looking forward to checking on the baby today but I guess it will have to wait. I'm hoping school will be cancelled again tomorrow but I am so bored!!!!!!!!!

We went to the doctor today and it is confirmed...... I'm 8 weeks pregnant!!!!!! We saw the baby and a strong heartbeat. Our due date is August 8,2009!!!!! We had told ourselves we were not going to get excited until we saw the baby. Last time, we had an empty sac, a baby never developed. To Chellie and Nate and Amy and Luke sorry for having to get up and go puke sunday morning. Thats the routine these days. Also, I hear a congrats is in order to Amy and Luke. I'm so excited for you guys.
Prayers are much appreciated. The doctor said that everything looks perfect but until 13 weeks I'm going to be a little uneasy!!!!!

crazy day!!

Oh man! The kids were so excited about the possibility of snow. They were so crazy!
Add the speech therapist being gone (tuesdays all my kids have speech and I get a 30 min break, which I desperately needed today) two kids forgetting their meds , indoor reccess and a sick TA.
To quote one my of students, "Today was upsane!" upsane aka insane.
I was suppose to have a meeting tonight but it was cancelled, now I wish I would've signed up for the refresher. I really wanted to go but I didn't think I would be out of my meeting in time.

Two of our reg ed friends came in b/c they couldn't go to PE (one broken arm and one twisted ankle). They said "Mrs. O'Bryan do you have a headache?" I said " As a matter of a fact I do, why do you ask!" They said "b/c we have only been in here 5 min and we have a headache!"

By the end of the day, I was about to pull my hair out but then I got hugs and kisses and I love yous as they got on the bus and I remembered why I do this everyday!!!

On my goodness sakes alive!!!! Toys R us was absolutley a nightmare!!!! My niece and nephews better really enjoy those toys they just have to have!! I saw Chellie Ison there reporting. That was cool!! I met some nice ppl while standing in the checkout line for 2 hours!!!!

I thought I would start at Toys R us and then go to old navy but when I got there at 4:45am and saw the line, I though OMG!!! I waited in my car until 5am when they started letting ppl in. When I saw they had let everyone in and the line was still around the block. I decided to go on to Old Navy and come back. Old Navy wasn't very bad. I got some great deals on gifts and even got Pat and I a few sweaters. I only waited in line 25 min.

But Toys R us was so crazy. There were no shopping carts. So I had to carry, kick,etc 3 large gifts and a small one. Next year I think I will do Toys R us online. I almost did this year but I didn't want to pay the shipping. Shipping costs are well worth it!!!!! The things we do for the ppl we love!!!!

Since work has been so crazy, some of my co-workers and I decided to get together for a saturday breakfast and only one rule "no talking about work!" It was a lot of fun!!
When I got home, Pat informed me that our cat, tigger has been violently throwing up and having diarrhea since I left. So I called the vet. They said bring her on in.
Well 2 1/2 hours , and $130 later, it was determined that she just had a virus. We think she got it from our dog, Link. He was really sick ,throwing up, a few weeks ago. It was also determined that her stomach was inflammed due to over grooming and some of her stool sample had hair in it. So we have an antibiotic to reduce the inflammation. And last but not least, It was determined that she is a bit over weight. So we are starting her on a prescription diet cat food.
Pat got a kick out of this question " Was she weighed with her pet taxi?" The answer was no!!! So she's a little chubby. A little meat on a girls bones never hurt anybody haha!!!
As we were leaving the vet, my good fried called and said she had locked her keys in her car and asked if I could come and get her and take to her house so she could get her extra set of keys. I said yeah but tigger was already having a fit b/c she wanted to go home. But we got my friends extra set of keys and took her back to her car.
Tigger is so glad to be home and so mad at me. I guess I'm the bad person for trying to take care of her.
So much for a relaxing saturday huh! I guess it could've been worse.

I am so glad it is friday!!!! There has been a lot of drama at school not with the kids but with the staff. When you get that many females together, I guess you are going to have drama. Sometimes I have to tell myself that I can't fix everything. I am the special ed department head so I feel the need to keep my team together but I have to learn to pick my battles. If I followed that advice more often I would probably be less stressed.

Anyway, today was my practicum students last day :(. We had a little party for her. I think she is going to be a great teacher. Some people just get sped and others don't and some things you just can't teach. She gets the kids. The kids loved her. I don't think they quite understood that she wouldn't be back. Most thought it was her birthday (even after several explanations).

I am looking forward to a drama free weekend (hopefully)!!!

update on my mom!

Ok so they couldn't do the surgery until Thursday morning. They kept her at Henryetta b/c the surgeon was realy busy at tulsa and told them he would be in henryetta on thursday morning. So wednesday night, mom had a horrible night and was in alot of pain. Thursday morning the surgeon got to henryetta and did the surgery. She got to come home friday after noon. We had a half day at school on friday due to parent teacher conferences. I only had two conferences, so my principal let me leave after I was done and I drove to henryetta. I am so glad I did. Mom was still in alot of pain b/c they couldn't do the scope, they had to cut her. My dad just got a new job and is still temp and didn't feel like he could take off work. I'm glad I was there to help mom and especially my brother. My brother is severly autistic and requires help with his shower, etc. I gave my brother his shower, made sure he took his meds and ate regularly while mom was resting. She is doing so much better today. So my dog and I came back home tonight. My dad is off tonight so I feel she is in good hands.
Thanks for the prayers and concerns. My dog and I are exhausted. My brother was so worried about mom that he kept us up most of the night. So I am looking forward to a good night sleep in my own bed.

I just learned that my mom was rushed to the ER and will be having emergency gallbladder surgery in a few hours, if they can get the surgeon to Henryetta if not they will have to transport her to Tulsa. She has a bad infection. Her white count is 21K. They are giving her IV antibiotics as I type. I am just praying everything will turn out ok.
I will update when I know more.

Today was pajama day at school! I love pajama day. We made pancakes for snack. The kids loved it!!!
Ok the funny story of the day...
Two of my students were agruing. I asked them what was going on. "T" said "N" kept saying gotcha and he didn't like it. I asked him if he told"N" that he didn't like him saying that. "T" turned around and told "N"that he didn't like it when he said gotcha. I told "T" that if "N" did it again to just ignore him and then tell me.
"T" turned to me and said " I'm not knowing "N" anymore b/c I don't like it when he says gotcha so I'm just not knowing him anymore. Later in the day "N" was trying to talk to "T" and "T" put his hand up and said " I'm not knowing you anymore and I don't talk to people I not know"
